Monthly Recap

What's been going on these days with NBANAT?

Comparisons

Since the last NBANAT recap, a ton has happened. Obviously, the NBA season kicked off with huge performances from the league’s superstars. Our third NBANAT season of comparisons recently launched, and a current star we compared was Victor Wembanyama.

We featured Wemby along with Wilt Chamberlain and discovered some unexpected similarities and interesting distinctions.

Then, there’s a Legends of the Game episode, where we compared Shaquille O’Neal to Moses Malone. We were excited to have Paul Knepper co-host that episode because he wrote a biography about Moses Malone and shared great details of the NBA Hall of Fame center’s journey.

Lastly, our comparison of Karl Anthony Towns to Rasheed Wallace was published today! We really enjoyed peeling back layers of their careers, from high school, to college, and the pros.

Interviews

Also new from NBANAT are several conversations from our 50-40-90 Interview Series. We interviewed a music artist from Detroit whose song is the theme song before every Pistons game. Downtown Deuce is his name, and his passion for the Pistons and musical talent are beyond words. In addition, we interviewed Yaron Weitzman, award-winning sports writer who wrote a book about the LeBron years in LA. Published by Doubleday, A Hollywood Ending: The Dreams and Drama of the LeBron Lakers is available online and in book stores.

I was invited to come on a few shows to promote NBANAT Season 3. I was a guest on Trending in the AM with Phil Stiefel and Golden State with Mates with Peter O’Keefe. Phil and I chatted Sixers, while Peter and I discussed the Warriors. With both, I went through player comparisons that covered their team’s star players.

Special Opportunities

Ben Franczuszki from NBANAT played a lead role in a basketball comedy skit with influencer Kai Cenat. Seeing Ben show off his acting and dribbling skills in a skit with Kai Cenat is fun to watch. I also had opportunities come my way last month. I had a chance to speak with Charles Barkley at a special event at Rowan University. I am grateful to have had the chance to thank my childhood sports hero and connect through a nostalgic moment.

Lastly, a new series started where I am joined by Martin Soaries from Basketball Society. Known as the Basketball Jedi, he brings his intriguing ideas to our conversation about Allen Iverson’s iconic “Practice” quote from the infamous Sixers press conference back in May 2002. We dive into the events that led to his public exasperated state and the impact the quote had on the sports world and pop culture.

Thanks again for all of your support as we strive to enrich the global basketball community with our comparisons.
